Happy New Year from Young Island! The Daily Meal recently published an article highlighting New Year’s Eve Creativity Around the World, and featured Young Island’s special 2018 celebration.

Dec. 31 was certainly a night to remember, and some highlights from this year’s event are below.

Décor & Details

For a festive touch, Captain Bligh Lounge & Bar and the open-air, thatched roof huts were dazzled with Caribbean blue and gold décor.

Gourmet Buffet

We bid farewell to 2017 with our Old Year’s dinner buffet. Guests enjoyed gourmet dining including appetizers, cold and hot entrées, salads, sides and desserts. Chef Christopher John and our dynamic culinary team put on a beautiful, delicious feast for our celebrating revelers.

For many years, guests have said our freshly baked bread is irresistible. As always, this tasty delight was quite popular!

Finally, there were 14 desserts to choose from, including Caribbean Black Cake, Coconut Raspberry Squares and Ginger Crème Caramel.

Entertainment

Rhythms from our steel pan performers set a lively mood for the evening as we celebrated the end of 2017 and welcomed the New Year.
